Police believe the offenders who vandalised the Seville War Memorial last week did so sometime between 4.30pm on Thursday 14 September and 10.30am on Friday 15 September.
The damage is estimated at a cost of $50,000 with two of the 3.5m tall glass panels needing to be replaced.
The site around the Seville War Memorial has since been closed to the public, with services on Thursday 5 October to commemorate George Ingram VC, MM being awarded the Victoria Cross,
Saturday 14 October to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the death of Bruce Bethune in World War Two and the Saturday 11 November for Remembrance Day service all in doubt.
Police are keen to speak to any witnesses or anyone with CCTV in the area and have released images of the damaged property.
