While summer snow is being predicted in Victoria’s alpine region on Friday 3 February, Mt Donna Buang will just miss out.
Unfortunately, for those who wanted to see the rare snowy sight it will be a bit too warm, wet and high for Mt Donna Buang.
A minimum temperature of 1 degree Celsius at 1219m altitude is just above freezing temperature and even if any snow were to fall, the 14cm of rain predicted on Thursday night is likely to wash it away.
The last significant snowfall on Mt Donna Buang was 6cm on 14 December 2022.
