Monbulk-Seville Road in Wandin East is closed in both directions between Parker Road and Link Road due to a landslip near Holden and Charteris Road.
Large cracks have formed both on the road and ground nearby, with motorists claiming the road has needed attention for ages and has been getting progressively worse.
Victoria Police are on site directing traffic.
