Visitors to the Cement Creek Redwood Forest may have to hold off a little longer, as upgrades to the facilities have been delayed.

Significant and necessary heritage assessments and permits are being worked through by Parks Victoria.

The forest is subject to a number of unique heritage controls that work to protect the natural and cultural values of the park, and ensure that any works complement and are sympathetic to this stunning environment into the future. Improvements to the Redwoods Forest are planned to enhance the visitor experience and protect the forest’s unique natural and cultural values for years to come.

From October to December 2022, Yarra Ranges Council is completing necessary works to rehabilitate and upgrade the connecting Cement Creek Road Bridge. Road access to the Redwoods Forest is closed during this time.

The forest will still be able to be accessed by bike or on foot via the O’Shannassy Aqueduct Trail, with variable message signs (VMS) in place to notify motorists of the works.
