Upper Yarra Woolworths customers can help children and families in need this October by supporting the Good Friday Fundraising Appeal.

Over the last 30 years, Victoria’s Woolworths customers have helped raise more than $20 million together with The Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal, providing care and support to patients and their families who are being treated at the hospital.

“The Good Friday Appeal is important, as together with our customers we can help provide community members across Victoria with the help they need,” said Woolworths Seville and Woolworths Yarra Junction Group Manager, Rob Valente.

Throughout October, Upper Yarra Woolworths customers can help make a difference by simply purchasing a $2 token or rounding up their purchase to the nearest dollar when they shop.

“Through our partnership with Woolworths, The Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal is able to impact the lives of sick children and their families by giving them the brightest possible futures,” said Executive Director of the Good Friday Appeal, Rebecca Cowan.

“Every dollar plays a vital role in directly helping Victorian families during a challenging time, and we are thankful for the incredible support from our community.”

Isla Magann, age eight, was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia in 2017 at age three, and began receiving chemotherapy treatment at The Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH).

Although Isla’s cancer journey is not over yet, her family remains positive thanks to the support of the hospital. Led by her Oncologist Dr Diane Hanna and the local community through the Good Friday Appeal, Isla continues to receive life saving support for her cancer care.

Isla’s parents Leanne and Andrew said through years of on and off chemotherapy and treatment, Isla is now in complete remission and back to her bubbly self, thanks to the support of her incredible treating team.

“We are extremely grateful for the continuous generosity that our customers bring, providing a positive impact on local families and children.”
