Scrabble added to Warburton Community Chess Day

The successful Warburton Community Chess Club that started this year has expanded, adding Scrabble to its repertoire from Saturday 2 july.

The event running from 1pm to 5pm is welcome to players of all levels and experiences and was originally organised by East Warburton residents Shez and Warren Gibteath and their 13-year-old son Harry back in February.

It has gone to become a semi-regular club that gathers at the Koha Community Space (25a Dammans Rd, Warburton). Snacks, tea and coffee will be provided.

The creation of the event was inspired by Harry’s reignited passion for chess, and as a way to connect with his late grandfather through his chess books and notes.

Extra chessboards will be available, but participants are asked to bring one of their own if they have one.
