Vic Emergency advises thunderstorm threat is reduced



Warburton has seen a dousing of rain this morning as the Bureau of Meteorology recording the town saw 45.4mm between 8am and 10am.

Vic Emergency has also cancelled a severe thunderstorm warning for Greater Melbourne, due to the threat being considered reduced as of 9.34am. This followed the Watch and Act message issued at 8.21am

The Upper Yarra has seen some flooding, there was a request for assistance issued at 9.23am in Yarra Junction.

Vic Emergency advises residents to:

Check your property for damage

Keep clear of damaged buildings, power lines and trees.

Drivers in the Upper Yarra area should remain wary and make sure they are:

Aware of road hazards including fallen trees, floodwater and debris on the road.

Driving slowly and obeying all road signs.
