Need for speed
A Ducati motorcycle was caught allegedly travelling at double the speed limit at East Warburton on Saturday 16 November.
State Highway Patrol motorcycle officers clocked the motorcycle travelling at 160km/h on Woods Points Road in an 80km zone about 1pm.
The male rider, aged in his 40s, had his motorcycle immediately impounded for 30 days.
The Healesville man is expected to be charged on summons with excess speed and other traffic related offences.
Armed robbery
A 24-year-old Healesville woman is in custody an alleged armed robbery in Kew on the morning of Wednesday 13 November.
Investigators have been told the woman produced a weapon and demanded a victim’s phone in Yarra Boulevard about 9.10am.
The victim refused to hand over the phone and the female fled in a silver Lexus station wagon.
The vehicle was seen by Nunawading Highway Patrol members who attempted to intercept the car which refused to stop. The vehicle was then seen a short time later in Bullen.
Police monitored the vehicle and initiated a pursuit.
The car was stopped by police in Mitcham Road at the intersection of Victoria Road, Mitcham.
The woman is assisting police with their enquires.
Coldstream crash charge
Detectives from the Major Collision Investigation Unit have charged a man after a woman was struck by a car in the driveway of her Coldstream home on 17 February 2019.
The 45-year-old woman was conveyed to hospital with critical head injuries and passed away on 29 March.
The driver, a 45-year-old Coldstream man, has been charged with dangerous driving causing death.
He has been bailed to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 20 November.
Bus crash charge
Detectives from the Major Collision Investigation Unit have charged a man after a pedestrian was struck and killed by a bus in Ferntree Gully on 12 December 2018.
The collision occurred on the Burwood Highway just after 7.30pm.
The 38-year-old Ringwood man died at the scene.
The bus driver, a 60-year-old man from Woori Yallock, has been charged with dangerous driving causing death.
He has been bailed to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 20 November.
