Motorists are advised that the Black Spur is closed in both directions following a truck which has rolled down an embankment near Fernshaw.
Emergency services were called to the scene at Fernshaw early this morning and two heavy haulage vehicles are currently working to remove the prime mover.
The driver was uninjured and Leading Senior Constable at Lilydale Highway Patrol Chad Bullock said the truck ran off the edge of the road and was pulled down by his trailer.
“At 9:25am this morning the driver has come around a right hand bend and claims that another truck was coming in the opposite direction,” Snr Constable Bullock said.“As this road is quite tight he has come around the bend and his trailer has dropped off to the left and has pulled the truck down with it.”
“Not claiming anyone is at fault here except perhaps the width of the road.”
The truck is believed to have been carrying turf products.
Motorists travelling through the area are advised to seek an alternate route.
