Call out for performers

By Kath Gannaway

It’s been a long, cold winter and the antidote could very well be music and laughter.
A free community-building event Soul, Song, Speak, Soup Community Concert, will be held at the Millwarra Community Building in Millgrove, and the call is going out for performers to be part of the program.
Organiser Gunner said the concert on Saturday, 2 September is an opportunity for the community to come together.
“We can warm up our souls with songs, writings and music that encourage hope, passion, laughter and community,” Ms Gunner said.
Seasoned performers, writers, musicians, creative people and novices trying something new, are all invited to participate in the concert.
“We would like as many proposals and people as possible and encourage a diversity of performance styles and material,” Ms Gunner said.
She said the performances must be in the spirit of community connection.
All songs, music and other written material must be submitted by Sunday, 12 August.
Organisers need to know of any special needs or requirements, such as the number of microphones, well in advance to allow the best arrangement of the program.
A sound check will be done on the day, and some rehearsal leading up to the concert may be required.
For more information, phone Ms Gunner on 0499 863 028.
