Wednesday 13 September: Stableford
With blue skies, a pleasant breeze and a fast-drying course, it was always on the cards that someone would return an impressively high number of points –but we had two of those results.
The first of those members was David-Hatt, with 40 points next to his name.
That total normally would be more than enough to easily take the top prize, but not on this day.
Hatty did take the top voucher, but only on a countback.
The other 40-pointer was none other than my old mate, Tex Van Der Kooi, who, surprisingly had to be content to take home the runner up prize.
Tex’s handicap will clearly bounce back in with scores like that – but not too quickly please, Tex –-Master’s-Pennant season is fast approaching, my friend.
Balls in this event extended to 35 only.
NTP’s went home with Alan-Johnston, (3rd), Mario De Vincentis, (both the 5th & 12th – a good day’s work, Mario!)
The NTP for the 9th went to David-Wappett.
Saturday 16 September : PAR
Continued beautiful weather clearly also produces “beautiful scores!”
A particularly beautiful result posted on this day came from–Tex Van Der Kooi, who is now officially “on a hot streak!!”
Tex’s +4 trumped the rest of the field easily. In fact, the runner up on this day was his regular playing partner, Barry-Maltman, who should be pleased with his result of “square”, but that is still 4 “wins” back from Mr. Hot streak.
Of course, I cannot pass these results by without referring to the fact that BOTH these fine golfers are an integral part of my Warbie-Gold Master’s Pennant team, so things are looking rosy for the opening match of the season, on 6 October.
Keep up the good work, boys.
Although Barry’s square result snared for him the runner up voucher, there were plenty in the field who won a ball, as that rundown extended to -3!
Finally, the NTP’s on this day went home with Damon-Shaute, (3rd – and a welcome guest from Gardiner’s – Run G.C.)
Also to Matt-Maloney, (5th), Noel-Cross, (9th), Bruno-Kennedy, (12th) and to Alan-McDonald, (15th).
