Upper Yarra Basketball Association Inc has reminded players to be kind and respectful in tonight’s competition with most games going forward with one referee.
Basketball games generally have two referees however, the competition is currently facing a referee shortage.
The association posted on social media to alert players of tonight’s changes.
“Due to referee shortage most games will only have 1 referee. The only other alternative is to cancel games. Please be kind and respectful…absolutely zero tolerance for unsportsmanlike like behaviour from spectators and players,” they wrote.
UYBA was also notified that a person in attendance of game on Tuesday night at the Yarra Centre has since tested positive to Covid-19.
“If you were at the Yarra Centre on Tuesday 15th February please monitor for symptoms and get tested as required.”
