Eastern Ranges player Aiden Begg has been selected by Collingwood at the AFL Mid-Season Draft on Wednesday 2 June.
Begg was picked up at pick 18 and will add to the Pies’ ruck and forward stocks.
Begg’s season was cut short by a shoulder injury sustained in Round 2. The 197cm ruck played out the game, but has been sitting on the sidelines since.
But the two NAB League games were enough to spark an interest from Collingwood to recruit him despite not being able to don the black and white stripes this season.
Begg collected 14 disposals, four clearances and kicked a goal in the Ranges season opener against the Cannons.
He joins the former club of Eastern Ranges coach Travis Cloke. Celebrating his achievement on social media, Cloke said, “How good. Shame you can’t pull on the number 32.”
