Tess Flintoff made history this week, becoming the first Female from the Ferntree Gully and District
Cricket Association to play for a Victorian XI.
The former Knox Gardens junior has had a meteoric rise through Cricket Victoria’s High Performance
program, who was playing locally only 4 seasons back. Nowadays, Flintoff is Captain of Victorian
Under 18 Women’s Team and plays for Ringwood Rams in the Victorian Premier League.
Flintoff, who turns 16 later this month, played as part of the Victorian squad to play against Australia
on Thursday as part of a national squad warm up match at Citibank Oval ahead of the 3rd One Day
International against New Zealand. Flintoff scored 1 not out from 2 balls faced, and was dynamic in
the field – taking two catches including that of the Australian Captain, Meg Lanning.
Flintoff now becomes the 6 th player from the Ferntree Gully and District Cricket Association to play for
Victoria, joining the likes of Steve Seymour, Paul Wilson, Sam Harper and South Belgrave duo
Brendan Joseland and Glenn Maxwell.
