Take a moment to thank the Upper Yarra’s CFA volunteers

Dear Editor, Upper Yarra Star Mail News.

I would like to take this opportunity to publicly acknowledge and thank the members of the Upper Yarra CFA Fire Brigades and the Upper Yarra SES for their outstanding service and dedication to our community.

Our local CFA and SES volunteers consistently demonstrate professionalism, commitment, and a strong sense of community responsibility in protecting lives, property, and our local environment.

In addition to their vital work here in the Upper Yarra, many members willingly join strike teams, often travelling long distances to support fellow crews and communities in other regions during times of significant need.

This level of service reflects the very best of the CFA and SES spirit.

Importantly, I also wish to acknowledge the families of our volunteers. Their understanding, patience, and support make this service possible.

The sacrifices made by families – often at short notice and during challenging times – are an essential and valued part of the CFA and SES strength and resilience.

Together, our volunteers and their families give selflessly in service to others, and their efforts deserve recognition and sincere appreciation from the entire community.

On behalf of our community, I extend my heartfelt thanks to all members of the Upper Yarra CFA Fire Brigades, SES and their families for the invaluable role they play.

Yours sincerely,

Cr Jim Child

Councillor O’Shannassy Ward
