Heidi Sharp’s school holiday project could see her and her classmates at Yarra Junction Primary School sitting pretty on a new outdoor furniture setting.
Heidi and her mum, Emily, found a competition on facebook run by Draffin Street Furniture which makes outdoor furniture from recycled materials.
“I had to show what recyclable items are used to make the furniture and show the friends who would be enjoying the new furniture,” Heidi explained.
Her entry does both beautifully!
They scanned and entered Heidi’s picture and shared it with friends, the school community and local businesses who have got right behind the initiative.
The competition is based on the number of ‘likes’ received and so Heidi is hoping with just two days to go, lots of people will like and share so the school can share in some great prizes of satellite tables and seats.
Heidi is currently on second place with 1600 ‘likes’. Voting closes at 5pm on Thursday, 16 August.
“Our school has recently undergone some major renovations which have given us some amazing new classrooms,” Emily said, adding that with a brand new playground on the ‘to do’ list, winning such a great prize would be perfect timing.
