Lighters stolen in servo raid

Thieves broke into a Woori Yallock service station and left with cigarette lighters.

Yarra Ranges CIU detectives are investigating whether the break-in on Tuesday 7 August is linked to a similar burglary at a Healesville petrol station just a few days earlier.

In the Woori Yallock case, they kicked the front automatic door off its tracks at the closed Warburton Highway store about 2.30am.

Police said there were no cigarettes kept on the premises.

The Healesville incident occurred on Maroondah Highway just after 3m on Friday 3 August.

The thieves stole a quantity of cigarettes and cash and left the scene in a light grey Ford Territory station wagon.

Call Crime Stoppers on 18000 333 000 or submit a confidential crime report at www.crimestoppersvic.gov.au with any information on either incident.
