A wonderfully sunny winter day saw some good football played at the Yarra Valley Soccer Club.
The juniors kicked the day off with the under-13s playing Knox.
A lop-sided score line not a fair reflection on the quality of the game.
A fantastic second half display resulted in the Valley’s only goal, with Riley scoring a penalty.
The under-11s had a fantastic game but were just unable to find the back of the net.
A good Monbulk side was able to finish their chances and nabbed the three points in front of the young Valley stars.
The women’s team played away against Maroondah and nabbed a 1-1 draw.
The girls had the majority of the game and looked to run away with it but were unable to put a few more goals on the board to take all three points.
With a forfeit for the senior men’s, the reserves were the only senior game Valley had at home this week.
A 3-3 score line meant the supporters on the sideline were never bored.
Two goals to Finlay Kerridge and Josh Williemsen’s first ever goal for the club got Valley the point in a game it probably should have won.
