Stalking and dangerous driving charges

A Wandin East man will answer stalking and reckless driving charges after allegedly doing donuts on a football field.

Yarra Ranges CIU Detectives said a witness, 73, reported seeing the man driving on Wandin East Recreation Reserve on Thursday 7 June.

They said the witness went to close the gate when the driver exited, and an altercation ensued in which the witness’ car was damaged with a rock.

Following a police investigation, officers arrested a 25-year-old Wandin East man and charged him with 25 offences, including reckless conduct endangering serious injury, stalking, driving in a dangerous manner, driving a vehicle causing loss of traction, and criminal damage.

He’s due to appear in Ringwood Magistrates’ Court on 13 December.
