Healesville’s very own craft shop Crumbz Craft has followed up on last year’s success at the Lilydale Show, with yet another fantastic award-winning year.
Crumbz Craft entered 19 pieces in the needlework section of the Lilydale Agricultural and Horticultural Show on Saturday 18 November, and from it won 42 ribbons and places.
A selection of knitted, crocheted and sewn pieces were entered into the needlework section, and achieved a variety of accolades.
Teacher Alison Boyd’s knitted mice took out the best exhibit in toys.
In the junior section, Kanami Ishikawa,11, received two awards for ‘Best Exhibit – Junior Needlework section’ and ‘Best Junior Exhibit Show’ for her knitted jumper.
Crumbz Craft owner Kay Trembarth said she was thrilled with the result which was even better than last years.
“We are so thrilled that our students are getting such recognition for their creations,” Ms Trembath said.
“Last year, we were delighted to be awarded over 30 ribbons and places, so to have increased this to 42 this year from only 19 entrants, is quite staggering.”
Crumbz Craft runs kids knitting and sewing groups as well as a Knit Hook Natter group twice a week for older participants.
The winning pieces will be on display at Crumbz Craft this week for all to admire, ahead of their Christmas window reveal, which will take place at their pre-Christmas shopping night on Friday 1 December, 7- 9pm.
