Flemington may have been centre of attention for the ‘race that stops a nation’ on Tuesday 7 November, but many punters headed to the Yarra Glen Racecourse to enjoy the public holiday in country-racing style. With a full race-day program, fashions on the field and plenty of entertainment, the day proved to be as big a winner as Melbourne Cup champion, Rekindling. The Cup race, too, was streamed live on the big screen. Mail photographer Greg Carrick attended the day to capture all the action. 174831
