Lake Mountain Resort will soon benefit from the direction of highly experienced executive, Gail Conman.
The Southern Alpine Resort Management Board, which this year became the committee of management for both Lake Mountain and Mount Baw Baw Alpine resorts, has announced the appointment of Ms Conman as chief executive officer.
She will take over the role from outgoing CEO, Philip Nunn.
Ms Conman has carved out a diverse career during which she has enjoyed roles as the director of City Services for Moonee Valley City Council, and with University of Melbourne.
She has also filled a role with the Victorian Government, as executive director in the Victorian Auditor-General’s Office.
Ms Conman, who is expected to take up her role on 24 April, said she couldn’t wait for the opportunity.
“I am thrilled to be appointed, and look forward to working with board members and the resort employees to create a successful future for the resorts,” she said.
Chair of the Southern Alpine Resort Management Board, Allan Bawden, said Ms Conman had a history of building highly effective workplace cultures.
“The board is delighted to have found someone with Gail’s energy, passion and background to lead the organisation to the next stage of development,” he said.
“There is much to do in the two resorts; to build on the foundations and to implement the decisions that we are expecting from government.
“Gail’s capacity and enthusiasm to work with people in her teams, to lead better cultures and outcomes, are going to be the cornerstone for the future success of the resorts.”
On 1 January this year, the board became the committee of management for both resorts, with their aim to ensure the resorts are not only financially sustainable, but offer economic and social contributions to the regions in which they operate.
