THE artistic talents of more than 80 students from Wandin Yallock Primary School are on display to the wider community this week at Mont De Lancey Historic Homestead in Wandin.
The week-long annual exhibition by students from Prep through to Grade 6 was officially opened last week, with students walking with great anticipation from the school to the nearby Mont De Lancey to see their works displayed professionally in the magnificent gallery.
Art teacher, Courtney Sharp, said members of the wider school community attended the opening and joined the students for afternoon tea.
“The students were really keen and excited to see their pieces on display and will be just as excited to be taking them home after having them on public exhibition,” Ms Sharp said.
The exhibition covers a wide range of media reflecting the year’s art curriculum which included Indigenous art, items made from recycled materials, paintings and textiles.
The display is open to the public until Wednesday, 9 November, when it makes way for the official opening of ‘Fusion – Nature Through The Lens’, a photographic exploration of nature by Yarra Valley artists, bird photographer Kim Wormald, artist Joy Phillips and photojournalist, Greg Carrick.
The official opening of ‘Fusion’ is on Saturday, 12 November, at noon and is open to the public until 11 December.
Mont De Lancey is at 71 Wellington Road, Wandin North. Phone 5964 2088.
