THREE drivers will be fronting court after being caught under the influence of drugs by Yarra Ranges Highway Patrol police on Wednesday 2 November.
One driver, who decided to push his luck, was caught twice in less than three hours.
At 2.45pm a 39-year-old Ringwood man was intercepted by police and tested positive to methamphetamines/MDMA in his system.
At 3.29pm a 23-year-old Croydon man tested positive to the same drugs, and was found to not be displaying P-plates, did not have his licence on him and did not have an interlock fitted to his car as legally required.
At 6.33pm a 54-year-old Croydon man was intercepted after disobeying a red arrow and tested positive to the same drugs.
The Croydon man was spotted again at 8.56pm speeding in Chirnside Park when police realised it was the same driver. He underwent a second drug test which also returned positive.
All the drivers will be charged on summons with traffic offences with the Croydon man to be charged with disobeying a lawful direction by a police officer.
