COLD weather wasn’t enough to keep away eager visitors from the Yarra Glen Festival of Light over the weekend, with many turning up to McKenzie Reserve with home-made lanterns for an evening of entertainment. The festival, now in its second year, saw performers and lanterns light up the reserve on Saturday 20 August.
The event followed a lantern-making workshop last month, and a huge crowd at the 2015 event which involved floating lanterns on the lake near the town’s IGA supermarket. This year’s theme of magical creatures was taken up by some visitors, many of whom carried different illuminated objects at the festival’s parade.
Mail photographer, Greg Carrick, was there to capture the evening.
