ANGELS, Rebels, or just High Voltage performers, 21 students from Launching Place Primary School will be aiming for aerobic success on the Gold Coast in August.
Lightening Angels and Rockin’ Rebels, teams of eight girls, and High Voltage, a team of five boys, have qualified to represent their school and Victoria at the Schoolaerobics National Aerobics Championships next month.
It’s the eighth time in the nine years the school has been doing aerobics that they have sent teams to the nationals.
Teacher and aerobics coach Candice Nyman said the teams had put in some serious training to get selection, and were keeping up the pace in the lead-up to the national competition.
Of the 21 students heading north, 20 have never performed at that level before.
Grade 6 student Blake Sykes will be the ‘go to’ in terms of National experience, having competed twice before.
While the school has been extremely successful in competition, Ms Nyman said it was an activity enjoyed by lots of students on a regular basis.
“They enjoy the activity, working on the routines and being part of a team,” she said.
For the Angels, Rebels and High Voltage team-members, they will be thriving on the challenge high-level competition presents.
“We are expecting them to go out and do themselves, the school and Victoria proud,” Ms Nyman said of their expectations.
