Cars cops a spray in overnight attack

By KATH GANNAWAY

A NUMBER of car owners in Eileen Grove, Woori Yallock, were shocked to find their cars had been targeted by vandals overnight Wednesday 18 May.
As many as five or six cars were spray painted, causing thousands of dollars of damage.
Resident, Jason Bald, said a friend’s car was among those damaged in what appears to be a random attack.
“We walked out this morning to see spray paint all over the neighbours cars, all up the road there were cars spray painted with obscenities,” he said.
He said his friend, who was heading interstate later in the day, was devastated.
“It’s his first car and he is really shattered,” he said.
“We think it happened about midnight and are hoping that we will be able to get some information from CCTV footage in the street.”
Mr Bald and other victims have gone on social media, posting photos of the damaged cars, and with another resident saying her car had been broken into with what looked like an attempt to steal it.
Yarra Junction police are keen to hear from anyone with information about the attacks. Phone 5967 1104 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
