POLICE have arrested a 28-year-old man following an appeal to the public for information.
Joel Simons was arrested at Ringwood East on Wednesday 18 May by police from Lilydale Criminal Investigation Unit (CIU) and the Croydon Divisional Tasking Unit (DTU).
In a media release put out last week, police said Simons was wanted in relation to arrest warrants over theft of a motor vehicle, possessing the proceeds of crime and driving offences.
They said he was known to frequent the Yarra Valley and eastern suburbs.
Senior Constable Michael Sartori from Lilydale CIU said Simons was located and arrested about 3.45pm and went before an after hours bail justice where he was remanded overnight.
His case came before a magistrate at Ringwood on Thursday morning 19 May and he was further remanded to return to court in June.
