THE MAIL wishes a very happy birthday to Nesta Davies, who celebrated her 100th birthday on Friday 12 February.
Nesta, who was born on 12 February 1916, worked for the Mountain Views Mail as a volunteer in the 1970s and early 80s, when the paper was set up.
On Friday, Nesta was surrounded by friends at Holmwood Aged Care in Healesville, where she received a bouquet of flowers, a cake, a letter from Queen Elizabeth and plenty of cards from well-wishers.
When asked what she thought of the party, Nesta told the Mail it was “wonderful”.
“I shall remember that until I’m 100 next!”
