A WESBURN man was taken by ambulance to Maroondah Hospital with minor burns after being trapped inside his burning home early on Thursday morning (15 October).
Twelve CFA firetrucks attended the scene along the Warburton Highway, at about 4am, and rescued the man, which the CFA said was a difficult task due to high fuel loads and gas bottles in the vicinity.
The CFA believes there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the fire.
Safety Officer Brian Halit from Millgrove-Wesburn CFA said it was a timely reminder to people to clear the access around their properties coming into fire season.
