EMERGENCY services are currently on the scene of a two-car accident on the corner of the Maroondah Highway and the Warburton Highway in Lilydale.

An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said emergency services were called out to the crash at 11.46am on Monday 14 September, and that it appeared a car and a small truck had crashed into each other at the intersection.

The spokesperson said paramedics were treating a man in his forties with chest injuries, and a man in his seventies who was experiencing pain – both men were said to be conscious and alert.

Mail reporter Jodie Symonds said police were diverting traffic around the scene of the accident.

A CFA Media spokesperson said CFA crews had not been called out to the incident.

More as it comes.
