School celebrates centenary

By VICTORIA STONE-MEADOWS

THIS year marks the one hundredth anniversary of the Wandin North Primary School.
The school will be hosting an events day on Tuesday 1 September to celebrate the milestone with historical activities, photos, stories and memorabilia from past students and teachers.
The school has had many people come forward and supply old photographs and other mementos but they are always happy to have more.
One piece of history missing from the school is the bell that was used at the school during the 1920s and ’30s.
The bell has been missing for a number of years and the school considers its whereabouts a complete mystery.
All past students, staff and families are welcome to attend the event with afternoon tea provided.
Anyone who has memorabilia or stories they would like to share are welcome to contact the school on 5964 4570.
