Caught on the border
A MAN will face court for allegedly stealing a car from a Wandin North property last Sunday, after being arrested by officers near the border of New South Wales.
Yarra Ranges Crime Investigation Unit (CIU) Detective Sergeant, Mark Smithwick, said that between 10pm and 11pm on Sunday 21 June, a car was stolen from a Railway Parade property in Wandin North.
Det Sgt Smithwick said a 33-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested in Swan Hill and remanded in custody.
He said the man would face court for stealing the car, which was also recovered in Swan Hill.
Cops on the case
POLICE are searching for information after the headquarters of the Friends of the Helmeted Honeyeater was broken into last week.
Between 2pm on 24 June and 8am the next morning, Police believe an unknown person cut the front padlock from the gate of the property on Macclesfield Road in Yellingbo.
Though two sheds on the property were entered, no items are believed to have been taken in the incident.

Search for burglars
POLICE are searching for would-be burglars who broke into the Woori Yallock Footy Club rooms last week, and are asking anyone with information to come forward.
Between 6pm on Sunday 21 June and 9am the following day, unknown persons forced their way into the canteen at the Healesville-Kooweerup Road clubrooms, levering the door open.
However, police say nothing was taken in the incident.

Interviewed and charged
A MAN will face charges for a burglary in Woori Yallock from December last year, after being interviewed by police last week.
Yarra Ranges Crime Investigation Unit (CIU) Detective Sergeant, Mark Smithwick, said that a 47-year-old man has been interviewed in relation to a burglary at Bliss Hair Studio in Woori Yallock in December 2014.
Det Sgt Smithwick said the man would face charges in relation to the incident.
Graffiti charges
TEENAGERS from Wandin North are expected to be charged with graffiti offences, after being interviewed by police yesterday.
Monbulk Police Leading Senior Constable Ken Tromp said that police had interviewed three Wandin North teenagers in relation to graffiti offences in Wandin North.
He said the three boys, all aged around 14-15 are expected to have charges laid in relation to graffiti offences.
