Thieves make off with charity trailer

By KATH GANNAWAY

WANDIN Rotary Club members have been stunned by the theft of a trailer full of wood.
The club has been raffling the wood with funds going to the Nepal appeal, as well as delivering firewood to people in need in the community.
Rotary president Warwick Bisley said the trailer, partly donated by Michael’s Trailers in Healesville, was a critical piece of equipment that enabled the club to help a lot of people close to home and overseas.
The 6×4 trailer has the Michael’s mudflaps and also had the Rotary banner on it – leaving no question as to who the thieves were stealing from.
It was stolen sometime between 18 and 22 May from a property in Douthie Road in Wandin.
Anyone who noticed any vehicles in Douthie Road, particularly any towing a trailer, or who has any knowledge about the theft, is asked to contact Lilydale police on 9739 2300.
