HEALESVILLE Police are searching for answers after a driver allegedly crashed through a fence last week, only to drive away.
Senior Constable Kirsty Swankie said police believed there was a minor accident on the corner of Badger Creek Road and Airlie Road on Thursday 7 May, sometime in the night.
She said it was believed a car had driven through a paling fence on the corner, opposite the antiques shop, then driven away.

Site robbery
POLICE are appealing for witnesses, after a winery construction site on Maroondah Highway was broken into, with thousands of dollars worth of tools stolen.
Lilydale Police Criminal Investigation Unit (CIU) Detective Sergeant, Mark Smithwick, said the break-in occurred at a construction site on the corner of Hill Road and Maroondah Highway in Coldstream between 4pm on the Wednesday 6 May and 6am the following day.
The main building under construction, which was secured with plywood, was broken into, and $2500 worth of power tools were stolen.

Car blaze
A CAR has been destroyed in Badger Creek after a mysterious fire last Thursday morning, and police are searching for information.
Police believe the car fire started at about 4.44am on Thursday 7 May in Meadow Crescent, Badger Creek.
The car was destroyed as a result, and Lilydale Police Criminal Investigation Unit (CIU) Detective Sergeant, Mark Smithwick, said he believed the fire was deliberately lit.

Burglar stays safe
A HEALTH-conscious burglar is being chased by police, after they stole a first-aid kit from the Yering District Archery Club last week.
The unknown offender cut a padlock off of a portable building between 5pm on Saturday 2 May and noon on Sunday 3 May at the club’s premises in Macintyre Lane, Yering.
A first-aid kit was reported stolen, and police are asking anyone who may have witnessed suspicious behaviour to call Lilydale Police on 9739 2300 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Collection collected
POLICE are searching for a thief who made off with jewellery and a coin collection from a Dixons Creek property last week.
Police believe that, between 11am and 3.30pm on Thursday 7 May, an unknown offender broke into a property in Wills Road, Dixons Creek.
A coin collection and jewellery were stolen in the burglary, and anyone with information is asked to contact Lilydale Police on 9739 2300 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
