POEMS and stories were part of a ceremony that honoured ex-Wandin Yallock State School students who lost their lives on active duty during WWI.
Current students were joined by Australian actor and friend of the school, John Wood, for an Anzac Commemoration Service at the Wandin cenotaph on 24 April.
Research into the lives of local soldiers who had died in WWI formed the basis of beautifully executed talks by students, along with readings of traditional Anzac poems and poems they had penned themselves.
