Cash comes running in

By KATH GANNAWAY

WARBURTON CFA and Upper Yarra SES have received a big boost to their equipment funding, thanks to the hundreds of people who pulled on their runners for the 2015 Community Bank Warburton Up and Running in February.
Representatives of the bank and the Up and Running committee presented each organisation with $4000 recently, proceeds from the increasingly popular event.
Event spokesperson Sue Hoffman said the 12th fun run was the biggest yet, drawing participants from over 190 different postcodes, including large groups from Healesville and Seaford.
“The Killara Estate team awards were hotly contested, and an additional team category is planned for the next event on Sunday, 28 February, 2016,” she said.
With just 10 months to go to the 2013 event, it’s a good time to visit the new website: www.warburtonupandrunning.com.au – get a team together or set a personal best goal.
