Private Halford Leonard Platt, of Millgrove, enlisted on 30 June, 1915. He embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Star of Victoria on 10 September, 1915. He returned to Australia on 20 December, 1917, as a member of the 5th Divisional Signals Company.
