From footy to court

In brief

A FOOTY trip ended with an upcoming court date for a Woori Yallock man, who was caught drink-driving and speeding without a licence.
The 62-year-old man was pulled over by Casey Highway Patrol officers after drivers on the Princes Freeway in Berwick called triple zero to report him driving erratically at 7.50pm on Saturday 11 April.
When police officers caught up with the man, he was travelling at 102 kilometres per hour in an 80km/h zone.
He then blew .151 during a breath test – more than three times the legal limit, and was found to be unlicensed.
The driver told police he had returned from a trip to watch a suburban football match.
He will be charged on summons with traffic offences, and will face court at a later date.
