LE Boatwood and Alistair Whyte (centre back) are among local artists taking up Warburton CFA’s challenge to turn fire-fighting equipment into a work of art as part of their 100-year celebrations. CFA members, Captain Hazel Clothier and Chris Nicholson (above) are encouraging others to join the unique art project as a way of marking the milestone. Crank-up
UPPER Yarra Valley Historical Society is cranking up for Crank-Up on 28 and 29 March. Hot rods, stationary operating engines, steam rollers, working draughthorses, stalls, food and drinks, blacksmiths and much more will be part of the event at the Upper Yarra Museum in Yarra Junction.

Football history
A DISPLAY depicting the history of the Healesville Football Club is on show during March at Healesville Library. Local football historian Robert Nolan has put together a fascinating collection of memorabilia and ephemera including original photos from the 1920s and earlier, trophies and other collectibles. Farmers’ Market
PERMACULTURE Yarra Valley group holds the Healesville Organic Farmers’ Market every Saturday from 8am-1pm in Coronation Park, River Street. Fresh organic produce, seedlings, honey, sourdough bread, coffee and tea, olive oil, preserves, soaps and wooden toys are available.
