Irish theme at races

By KATHRYN BERMINGHAM

THE summer racing season finished in style over the weekend with the Hirsch Memorial Yarra Valley Cup.
Irish was the theme of the St Patrick’s Day celebration, with the $100,000 Jack Hirsch Cup taken home by Glen Boss riding ‘Index Linked.’
As always, the race was just one of the many exciting events happening at the track on the day. An Irish-themed Fashions on the Field, live Irish music and dancing, free children’s entertainment and themed food and beer ensured a great day was had by all.
Nine races rounded out the program, with many already looking forward to Yarra Valley Racing’s 2015/2016 season.
