HIGHWAY Patrol police officers are searching for a driver who was seen speeding through Healesville over the Australia Day weekend.
Police attempted to pull over the dark-coloured Holden VT Commodore sedan for speeding along the Maroondah Highway at 3pm on Friday 23 January.
However, due to the driver’s driving and safety concerns, police did not pursue the driver.
The same car was seen overtaking and crossing double lines near Maroondah Dam and speeding along Healesville’s main street.
Investigators believe the driver and his passenger, aged in their early twenties, live locally and have knowledge of the roads.
The car is described as black with a silver strip around the bottom of the vehicle.
