AN appeal to VCAT against plans to build a 40-metre communications tower in Millgrove will take place in Melbourne on 15 and 16 January.
Millgrove resident Sheila Goodwin is challenging the decision by Yarra Ranges Council to grant a planning permit for the tower, which will be located at the sawmill site in Millgrove.
Mrs Goodwin was one of a number of objectors to the proposal which, she says, will degrade the centre of the township, disrupt views and compromise a heritage overlay over the site.
“Residents of Millgrove who object to the proposed current location of the tower are asked to rally together and come along either on one day or the other, or both,” Mrs. Goodwin said.
“This will be our only opportunity to appeal against the location for the current permit.”
A community bus will leave Millgrove at 8am on both days of the hearing with an anticipated return time of around 7pm. Phone Mrs Goodwin on 0451 152 042 to book a seat.
