I AM sorry that some people have had issues with off-lead dogs in Warburton but it is not an easy solution to say to go to Wesburn Park.
It would be a great place to walk but it’s hot and dusty in summer, very muddy in winter.
The off-lead area is very small, has no shade, has a busy road running close by, is used by the dog obedience club and the fire trucks use that part for hose practise.
If the off-lead area there was extended it might encourage more people to use it, but for dog owners in East Warburton it is a long way to travel.
Lilydale Lake and Margaret McKenzie reserve in Coldstream are just too far.
Warrandyte has a large length of river path that is off-lead, so why are Warburton dog owners not given the same benefits?
Surely something better could be arranged – after all, we pay enough registration money for our dogs.
Chris Dimmock,
Warburton.
