QUEENS Park was transformed into an intriguing, wonderland of water discovery with the staging of Waterway Reflections on Saturday 15 November.
Through storytelling, song, dance, sculpture and puppetry, 19 artists took an audience of all ages on a journey of discovery of the park’s two waterways, Grace Burn and the Wirrup Yaluk.
Presented by HEWI (Healesville Environment Watch Inc) the event was an engaging theatrical journey led by storyteller John Ashton as a way of celebrating the role water plays in our lives.
Starting with a Welcome to Country and smoking ceremony by Allan and Perry Wandin and encountering along the way bees and fish, water rats, dragonflies and songstresses, a particularly annoying Ibis, water nymphs and other creatures, the event captured the imagination of young and old as a memorable 150th gift to the Healesville community.
