STUDENTS young and old will be gathering at Badger Creek Primary School this Friday for its biannual celebration, filling the grounds with music, markets and rides to enjoy.
The Badger Creek Primary School Community Festival will be held from 4-8pm on Friday 24 October on the primary school grounds, and the community is being invited to come along.
Students, parents and teachers will be hosting market stalls with local handicrafts, rides will be run for visitors, and music will be performed by a number of groups during the four-hour festival.
Event organiser Sarah Stewart said that all grades at the school had taken part in organising the festival, and that people of all ages would be entertained on the day.
“There’s going to be lots of rides, a jumping castle, face painting and community groups – the CFA is coming, and so is AUSKick,” she said.
“I’m feeling excited and proud of the children at the school and for the chance for the community to all get together.”
Ms Stewart said the children were excited about the upcoming event, and that the younger students at the school had taken the brave task of being testers for the face-painters.
She said visitors young and old would enjoy the ‘Festival Cafe, where musicians from the Badger Creek Primary School Band, Healesville High School Band, Badger Creek Primary School Choir and Badger Creek Women’s Choir will perform through the afternoon.
KinderLink, Birdlife Australia Yarra Valley, the Healesville and District Historical Society and other community groups will be also represented at the festival.
“We welcome all parts of the community – and kids from all of the schools – to come,” Ms Steward said.
“It’s a fun family event – come and see what Badger Creek has to offer.”
The Badger Creek Primary School Community Festival will be held at Badger Creek Primary School on Badger Creek Road in Healesville.
