Car flips, narrow escape

By JESSE GRAHAM

A PREGNANT driver had a lucky escape after rolling her car in Yarra Glen last week.
The driver, a 25-year-old Kinglake woman, lost control on a left-hand bend on the Melba Highway at 9.30am on Tuesday 2 September, hitting an embankment and rolling the car onto its roof.
Victoria Police, CFA, SES and VicRoads crews all attended the crash, and partially blocked the highway for around an hour.
The driver, who was 36 weeks pregnant and driving with her three-year-old son, was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital as a precautionary measure.
Yarra Glen Police Sergeant Richard Coulson said, at the time of the crash, it was raining heavily and the roads were slippery.
He urged drivers to take care when driving in the rain, and to drive to conditions.
