Trophy held aloft

THE annual Cockatoo Hills Challenge was held on Saturday at a soggy Mountain Road Reserve, Cockatoo. The event, held by Cockatoo Little Athletics Club, is one of the must-run events on the Yarra Ranges Athletics calendar. Events ranging from 500m to 3000m over a testing, undulating course suited the multi-talented Yarra Ranges athletes.
A great turnout of club members, young and old, ensured the return of the perpetual trophy to the Yarra Ranges Athletics trophy cabinet.
Parents and their kids alike, all get a sleep in next weekend with no cross country events. Their Athletics Victoria registered athletes will be competing at the 5km or 15km road race in Ballarat.
The next club event is the cross country fun day and presentation day on Saturday 23 August.
Go to www.yarrarangesathletics.org.au for more information on upcoming events, results and training times.
