MOUNT Evelyn VCAL students will be taking on Lillydale Lake on Tuesday to raise money for much-needed sports gear for their education.
The VCAL students at the Upper Yarra Community House’s (UYCH) Morrisons Campus will be taking on a three-kilometre fun run around Lillydale Lake on Tuesday 24 June.
As part of their run, the students are trying to garner support from the local community through sponsorships, which will help to buy more equipment for them to use.
VCAL co-ordinator Mark Hunt said that around $300 had been donated to the cause already, but that the group had an overall goal of $1000.
The fun run will begin at 10am, and will be followed by a series of sporting games and workshops with children from a local primary school.
