ABC protest sends clear message

By MELISSA MEEHAN

A PROTEST to protect the ABC was held out side local MP Tony Smith’s office this morning.
More than 20 people joined the protest, some dressed as ABC staff and characters, in a bid to save the ABC.
Those who took part said they wanted to let Mr Smith know the local feelings about rumoured cuts to the ABC.
Some carried bananas with their tops cut off, while others carried signs demanding that Mr Smith help save their ‘Aunty’ (a term the national broadcaster is affectionately knows as).
